June 5th - The Beaufort Broncos in their first regular season game at their new home field, the Hardeeville Municipal Stadium, defeated the Palmetto Havoc 18-2 in a strong defensive battle. The Havoc from North Myrtle Beach, SC scored a safety first on a bad snap when the Broncos were backed up against their own endzone at 4:01 of the 2nd qtr. The Broncos #6 Tymain Fields jump started things with a spectacular 95 yard kickoff return to make it 6-2 at 12:00 in the 3rd qtr. Greater pressure produced by some half-time adjustments resulted in some bad snaps and at 3:37 of the 3rd qtr #31 Kennard "blanket" Rhodan recovered a ball snapped over the punters head for a touchdown. Finally in the 4th qtr at 8:42 #19 E.J. Legree intercepted the Havoc and returned the ball 12 yards for a touchdown. See what you missed Hi-Lite Reel

Broncos 14 - Snipers 6 The Broncos rushing attack struck early posting our first 6 points at 13:29 of the 1st Qtr. A well balanced offense scored again at 2:32 with a successful 2PT conversion making it 14-0 at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. A pass interference penalty put the Snipers offence in striking range and they scored at 8:35 of the 2nd Qtr. The 3rd Qtr Broncos defense smothered the Snipers who earned only one 1st down and were sacked twice. The ball turned over on downs at 6:22 of the 3rd Qtr. The writing was on the wall and with an approaching thunderstorm the game was suspended for Lightning. After a 40 minute delay the game was called 14-6 Broncos.

There’s no place like home … Broncos 14 Grizzlies 6
Principal Dickson and Coach Hall at Whale Branch Middle School gave us an opportunity to use their field and we made it count. The Broncos marched straight down the field on the first possession and scored a quick 6 + 2. An interception on the Grizzlies first drive was all we needed to put a nail in it. Straight down the field again for another 6 and that was all it took up 14 while only 4 minutes into the game. The Grizzlies scored in the 2nd quarter, but couldn’t do anything with the ball after that. A brief delay due to a snafu with the lights finished with the Broncos determined and upbeat and the Grizzlies a bit dejected. We were happy to see our fans out in force along with many new faces.
